unposted awsomeness

My mom put me in charge of deserts for Easter, after doing some research on what I felt like making, I had it narrowed down to carrot cake or coconut cake... after consulting, telling my pops that, he immediatly said: "oh come on, please make the carrot cake, i dont even really like coconut cake, come on pllleeeeaasseee!". So after that I pretty much had to make the carrot... awesomeness ensued:
I made a cream cheese, roasted pecan frosting.
I had to put something on it to make it all about Easter. hahaha! I wish I got to my camera to catch a pic of the inside, but I couldnt stop eating this sucker and by the time i was done, it was all gone so i didnt get to snap the photo... call me selfish. ha

this is what you get

I was hoping all week that Sunday would be an amazing day. I had no plans whatsoever, and I quickly learned that neither did Sam, so we decided to just start walking, with our first destination in mind... velo rouge... we hit the streets!
before we even made it to velo, there were so many amazing flowers out in full effect. hhheeelllooo spring!!
these things were so bright, it kinda hurt my eyes to look at them.
the glorious-ness that is my latte. YUM! we grabbed a croissant and a coffee and walked up to Golden Gate park.
we stopped at the conservatory of flowers and had our little breakfast, or lunch? it was for sure after noon so i suppose it was lunch. it was so hot, we could only sit on the bench for a while, until it was time to start walking...
next up was the haight, i love shopping at the vintage stores there and browsing the bohemian jewelry stores. the have such unique pieces...espcially the one most amazing piece...
after the haight we walked down to the independent and had a brewskie at a great little cycling bar. however, best part is the coolest plant hangers you have ever seen! where do i get one of these? they are like these little felt-like plant pouches. i need to find where i can purchase one. stat.
we walked for a while and stopped at a park, picked up brewskie and watched a little league game. ahaha! the kids were so cute! plus it was nice to sit down and chill for a while. ya, dont judge, my dogs were barkin!
since we had so much time while walking to decide what our next stop was... fairly early on we had both agreed to get korean bbq. its always a easy decision for me though, it could easily be one of my favorite meals. all the flavors, textures and tastes... yum...
this is what you get for a sunday with no plans...so, this is how we finished the day.. with an beautiful sunset, looking out at hunters point. lucky to have seen this. how interesting is it, that no matter how many times you see the sun set, it never gets boring or old?

strawberries

Last weekend I went to Santa Cruz to visit my parents, they were celebrating my mom's bday with a camping trip... while driving in, I noticed fields and fields of strawberries... like as far as I could see. So conviently enough our campsite was right next to a field and we just kinda helped ourselves. Its not like they are gonna notice a few strawberries missing right?
thats dad there in the distance... just picking away.
They were such delish strawberries, perfect ripeness, sweet but a bit tart, they were perfect!! I for sure took more than this... in fact, enough to make this beaut:
I had to come home on Sunday and make a strawberry pie. it was so goooooood! this time around the crust was a bit buttery, but those who had a sample, definitely didnt mind, not one bit! HA!

more to come

my bad in not posting more awesomness lately... for some reason i have been out and about a lot. perhaps its the great weather, maybe the desire to start running more, in a way i attribute this to more daylight. anyways, a few weeks back sam and i went to Hard Knox. Sam had the chicken and waffles and i had just the fried chicken, served with cole slaw (that had raisens in it, yum) fries and homemade corn bread.WOWZA!
There is more of this delish-ish-ous-ness where this came from... so stay posted.

bombastic weekend

this past weekend was one of the best that I can remember. I am not sure if it was a DELISH dinner and excellent conversation with b,sitting outside, getting a sunburn, going to a great bar that has a costume theme, to celebrating with little miss heidi. I cant decide which part made it so wonderful. But lets start with friday:
Chandra had chicken, and randomly while i was snacking on apricots, we had the idea of saute-ing the apricots in butter and white wine and some other indian spices. it turned out SOOOOO good! thats what i call teamwork! lol
Next up was saturday and I went out to Sam's rugby game and had a glass or two of vino, some snacks and just sat out in the sun... it was amazeballs!
then saturday night the team had fund raiser and it was a 70's theme, we visted a thrift store before and i got this sweet poncho, and sam got this a bit too small vest, a great huge collared shirt and great polyester pants.
my favorite latte from velo rouge cafe. they are amazing... enough said!
Then a donut got baptized on saturday, she was so freakin cute! something even better, its now proven she doesnt hate me anymore! we total besties now. :)

wondering around

I love daylight savings time in the spring. When I get home from work its an opportunity to go outside, get a nice roam around outside... I am indoors way to much nowadays, work is just not in my priorties when its nice outside. ugh! Anyways, Sam and I took a nice stroll the other night and went by the exploritorium, its so pretty at night...

So yesterday I had the day all to myself and thought it would be a great opportunity for me to take a nice long walk, I took the bus out to Golden Gate Park, got a sandwich, single serving pinot grigio and hit the park. I first started at the Conservatory of Flowers and just started walking from there...
As I am walking down the road, I hear drums, so I naturally want to be wherever there is free outdoor music; so I follow the sound. Little did I know, I was stumbling upon Hippie Hill. It was worth the time I spent wandering around to witness the crazyness that was this place.
The weather wasnt the best, but it was so nice to be outside just enjoying the fresh air...

i dont even know what to say

On Sunday night we went over to Sam's Sisters house for dinner. We had bbq chicken, amazing salmon, cous cous salad... homemade kimchi...Her baby, sweet Heidi aka Donut is crawling all over the place and is on the verge of standing soon. I swear, its nuts how fast time goes by.... she was born beginning of may and i cant belive its close to a year already.
Above she is just helping out... i swear she loves the camera... but perhaps not when i am holding it. she really hasnt decided what to think of me yet. Sometimes she smiles and laughes and other times she wants to cry. I dont know what I did to offend Miss Heidi, but I cant believe how sad i feel that she is not bout it bout it with me. hahahah! whatever, we will be besties soon. so really, this below picture, i dont even know what to say about it. it really explains its self.
I think in this instance, a picture is worth a billiontrillion words. HA!
