fleshly amusement

This will be how I spend my Saturdays from here til May maybe longer...

...watching a weirdo game named rugby, a strange mix of soccer and football. I am still grasping certain concepts...

Don't be Jealous

Well maybe you should be. This is the third time since Feburary when I bought this thing has bloomed and it looks like I am going to get a few more flowers after this one too! I am kinda a big deal... I know...

Holy Pummelo

Or known as Pumelo. These things are huge and I couldn't resist picking on up at the market over on Clement and 25th. I had no idea with what to expect so I looked up how to peel the beasts and went from there. It was a long process, but they are delish!! They taste like a combo of orange and grapefruit.

Guess the Pummelo?

You could make a mean fruit salad with this.

Orchids can be Bastards

Not really, I have never been successful with the little jerks until I moved to San Francisco. While in LA I had a few and could never get them to bloom, which was very frustrating. Now my technique is as follows: water them when I forget the last time I watered them, and add fertilizer here and there. This scientific technique makes them freak out and bloom once to twice a year.

So I was told this guy was from Costa Rica. BUT its tag that I found in the soil after purchasing said Epidendrum corifolium, Guatemala. So I am more inclined to believe that, rather than the rando guy who sold it to me.

Thanks-o-giving

I cant resist putting up these posts of all the amazing food I had over the Thanksgiving weekend. The usual suspects were all there, mashed potatoes, bomb ass turkey, brown sugar carrot thingys (they were De-Lish!) green beans (however I don't care about those enough to take a picture, don't judge me.) OH and duhhhhh lots of wine!

Mia the Mascot

Around 4 Months old...

just looking out the window chillin...

I am concerned

I don't know what the hell is going on with these seeds... what to do? Some of the little sprouts are dying off and turning brown. Too much water? Noo.... I am keeping the soil moist and giving it some fertilizer every so often. Maybe its just too cold. But why would you give someone seeds that were not good for fall/winter planting!? Question of the ages is what this is...
