bombastic weekend

this past weekend was one of the best that I can remember. I am not sure if it was a DELISH dinner and excellent conversation with b,sitting outside, getting a sunburn, going to a great bar that has a costume theme, to celebrating with little miss heidi. I cant decide which part made it so wonderful. But lets start with friday:
Chandra had chicken, and randomly while i was snacking on apricots, we had the idea of saute-ing the apricots in butter and white wine and some other indian spices. it turned out SOOOOO good! thats what i call teamwork! lol
Next up was saturday and I went out to Sam's rugby game and had a glass or two of vino, some snacks and just sat out in the sun... it was amazeballs!
then saturday night the team had fund raiser and it was a 70's theme, we visted a thrift store before and i got this sweet poncho, and sam got this a bit too small vest, a great huge collared shirt and great polyester pants.
my favorite latte from velo rouge cafe. they are amazing... enough said!
Then a donut got baptized on saturday, she was so freakin cute! something even better, its now proven she doesnt hate me anymore! we total besties now. :)

wondering around

I love daylight savings time in the spring. When I get home from work its an opportunity to go outside, get a nice roam around outside... I am indoors way to much nowadays, work is just not in my priorties when its nice outside. ugh! Anyways, Sam and I took a nice stroll the other night and went by the exploritorium, its so pretty at night...

So yesterday I had the day all to myself and thought it would be a great opportunity for me to take a nice long walk, I took the bus out to Golden Gate Park, got a sandwich, single serving pinot grigio and hit the park. I first started at the Conservatory of Flowers and just started walking from there...
As I am walking down the road, I hear drums, so I naturally want to be wherever there is free outdoor music; so I follow the sound. Little did I know, I was stumbling upon Hippie Hill. It was worth the time I spent wandering around to witness the crazyness that was this place.
The weather wasnt the best, but it was so nice to be outside just enjoying the fresh air...

i dont even know what to say

On Sunday night we went over to Sam's Sisters house for dinner. We had bbq chicken, amazing salmon, cous cous salad... homemade kimchi...Her baby, sweet Heidi aka Donut is crawling all over the place and is on the verge of standing soon. I swear, its nuts how fast time goes by.... she was born beginning of may and i cant belive its close to a year already.
Above she is just helping out... i swear she loves the camera... but perhaps not when i am holding it. she really hasnt decided what to think of me yet. Sometimes she smiles and laughes and other times she wants to cry. I dont know what I did to offend Miss Heidi, but I cant believe how sad i feel that she is not bout it bout it with me. hahahah! whatever, we will be besties soon. so really, this below picture, i dont even know what to say about it. it really explains its self.
I think in this instance, a picture is worth a billiontrillion words. HA!

this is gooooood news

I pretty much wrote off this orchid. After I moved, I gave this guy a kinda permanent house over at Sam's place. When I did this, it freaked out, dropped its flowers and said peace out. I naturally thought that I would have to start from scratch with the little fellow and try again when I could find a better place for it. So needless to say you can only imagine my extream excitement when I found all of a sudden that it had a little bloom on it. This is amazing!

However, there is a flip side. now i am just thinking that its the entire environment in the City. There is always a lot of moisture in the air and its never too hot or (arguably) too cold. I am just giong to have to see how this goes... however, do I trim this old stem off entirely so then the new one can grow? I think thats the plan...

not to be outdone

Had to post this of mental Milton (my mom's dog). He loves basking in the sun in the backyard. Even though he is lame and is a huge baby about everything, in the end he isnt so bad and can actually be kinda cute...
and not to be  outdone, the other night i was fucking with Mia and was covering her up with clothes as i was cleaning up my room. when this happens she pretty much freaks out and thinks she is under some kind of death ray and cant move. weird ass cat.

things that are awesome

So today I was thinking about things that are awesome or things that i really really super like. first i have to say, something i really like is good food. ya i know hard to believe... but i enjoy cooking the things more so (most of the time) than actually eating the goodness. however this photo below i enjoyed both processes: preparing and eating. on saturday night at my parents we splurged and got crab, made artichokes and garlic bread and had ourselves a little feast.

the next thing that is always an awesome time is going out with Ashley to sushi, this activity is always accompanied by sake bombing. I should rephrase the above statement to say, what is awesome is going with sake bombing with Ashely. always a good time!!

I dont know about pro bakers, but in my world, its a big fucking deal when i can back a cake or a pie and not burn/dry the shit out of it. while back at the parentals i had success story. i baked a "chocolate torte" now dont ask me what the difference is from a torte to a pie, but there's a difference.

Skiing is pretty rad. I was alerted the other day that I have now been skiing for 20 years. h.o.l.y. s.h.i.t. I dont think its ok that I have been doing something for double digit amount (over 10) of time.

Of course flowers are amazing... hidden gems that can pop out of anywhere.

happy flowers

Sometimes I feel like a little kid when it comes to spring. I am so excited to see the seasons change, for all the flowers to come back and to see such a variety of flora...ahhhh. For now its just the bulbs that are awesome right now...however while up visiting my parents I found a few beautiful flowers. This first one here is apparently very poisonous. Every single part. From that statement by my mother I am getting that some plants have only flowers that are poisonous or leaves that are. Interesting

And Below here we have my mom's gnarly slipper orchid. I think she got this from the orchid expo from last year. Figures she can make the thing bloom. The woman has a major green thumb.

of course, here is our mascot, Mia. Funny thing, daffodils are extremely poisonous to cats. When I first got her as a kitten I had to find out which flowers I could have in the house and daffodils are not one of them. :( this is very sad, because I feel like they are such a happy flower.
Lastly, on a walk Sam and I went on, he spotted this really great flower thing... I think the plant it is coming from is a type of aloe or something.
